Registering of public and non-classified roads

Registering of public and non-classified roads

The majority of public and non-classified roads in the Republic of Croatia are not enlisted in the Cadastre and the Land registry or they are not registered according to the actual location or they are not legally owned by a road management company. For the purpose of full management and disposal, it is necessary to register any public or non-classified road in the Cadastre and the Land registry according to the actual conditions on the ground. This is regulated by the Law on Roads (Official Gazette 84/11).

Subject of registering are as follows:

  • public roads that were built up prior to the entry into force of the Law
  • public roads that have been reconstructed until the Law comes into force, if the reconstruction was carried out in accordance with the spatial planning documentation
  • non-classified roads used for vehicle traffic on any ground and which were accessible to a larger number of users until the entry into force of the Law.
